Man United are interested in signing free agent Antonio Rudiger this summer.

The Chelsea centre-back has been an integral part of the defending Champions League winners’ backline under Thomas Tuchel, and is likely to start in the League Cup final against Liverpool on Sunday.

However, the 28-year-old’s long-term future is far from certain at Stamford Bridge, with his current contract set to run out in June.

While he remains focused on adding more silverwares to Chelsea’s cabinet, he’s yet to commit to an extension and talks over a new contract are no nearer to being resolved.

According to the Mirror, Rudiger is well aware that he could earn up to £400,000-a-week with Real Madrid and PSG. He is also appreciated at Old Trafford, as Ralf Rangnick is believed to be a big fan of the German defender.

It casts a shadow over the future of Harry Maguire, who has not been at his best this season and has received scrutiny over his captaincy.

United seem keen to bring in a new centre-back in the summer transfer window and have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Manuel Akanji.

As per German outlet BILD, the Switzerland international, who has rejected an extension proposal from Dortmund, has received a four-year contract offer from the Premier League giants.
