Manchester United have convinced Christian Eriksen to join Erik ten Hag’s project at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has been looking to increase the technical quality of his side in order to smoothly implement his possession based style of football. Accordingly, the players who are comfortable with the ball on their feet are high on United’s list of priorities during the current transfer window.

The Red Devils have been competing with a host of Premier League clubs for the signature of Eriksen, who is available on a free transfer following the expiration of his short-term contract at Brentford.

Thomas Frank, who handed 11 league appearances to the Denmark international, has been keen to extend the creative midfielder’s stay at Brentford. However, Eriksen is prepared to accept United’s proposal of a three-year deal. He was also linked with an emotional return to Tottenham Hotspur.

The playmaker, who began his senior career at Ajax, trained with Ten Hag’s squad before joining Brentford in January.

As per The Athletic, the 30-year-old has verbally agreed to move to Old Trafford. Following the process of drafting contracts, he would need to come through medical tests.

United are also set to announce the signing of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord imminently.
