Manchester United have announced the signing of Tyrell Malacia from Feyenoord, and have made significant progress in their pursuit of a new midfielder.

On Tuesday, Malacia became the first arrival of the Erik ten Hag era, arriving from Feyenoord in a €15 million plus €2m add-ons deal. The left-back has penned a contract until June 2026 with an option to extend for a further year.

The Dutchman, who idolises United legend Patrice Evra, is blessed with blistering pace and technical ability, and is very competent defensively – a perfect blend for a modern-day full-back.

The 22-year-old has five international caps to his name, and has done well under former United manager Louis van Gaal, the current Netherlands boss.

Ten Hag had to wait for 75 days as United manager for his first signing, but a second new face is expected through the door at Old Trafford swiftly.

Christian Eriksen has given the green light to join United on a free transfer. As per Fabrizio Romano, contracts are ready for the former Brentford playmaker ahead of his medical. The Dane will sign a three year deal to become United’s next signing after Malacia.

If all things go as planned, Eriksen will be on Friday’s flight to Thailand for the Premier League giants’ summer tour.
