Ten Hag’s Fourth Signing: Agent Of Star Forward Meets United To Complete £68m Deal
Manchester United had a slow start to their summer transfer business, as they took over two months to give Erik ten Hag his first new signing following his appointment as the club’s new head coach.
Tyrell Malacia was the only fresh face to be on the plane for United’s pre-season tour. However, the club’s hierarchy have now picked up the pace, confirming two further arrivals in Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez in quick succession.
And before the end of July, they’ve started working on securing Ten Hag’s fourth signing.
According to the Mirror, United are moving in the right direction in their pursuit of a new forward and are edging closer to signing Antony.
Ten Hag wants a second player from his former club, with an attacker understood to be the priority for the Dutchman during the remaining weeks of the window.
As per the report, the Brazilian forward’s agent has travelled to the United Kingdom for official negotiations. United are hoping to agree personal terms with the Ajax star.
With Cristiano Ronaldo’s future still up in the air, the Red Devils are open to back Ten Hag and bring in a new forward. However, Ajax are reluctant to allow another first-team player to depart, having already sold Ryan Gravenberch, Sebastian Haller, and Martinez this summer.
