Manchester United Working On Completing Star Signing Before Liverpool Game
Manchester United are preparing to welcome their fierce rivals Liverpool on the back of two straight defeats and frustrating business in the transfer market.
The atmosphere at Carrington is understood to be toxic, and situation at Old Trafford is expected to be no different, especially if the Red Devils get thrashed by Jurgen Klopp’s men once again.
The United hierarchy’s abysmal activity in the summer transfer window means there isn’t much Erik ten Hag can do on the pitch on Monday night. But the Glazers might lighten the mood by securing a marquee signing before the weekend.
According to Josep Pedrerol of El Chiringuito TV, United want to sign Casemiro from Real Madrid before Saturday. They approached the Brazilian midfielder’s entourage after their 4-0 humbling at Brentford with an aim to make him their new player before they host Liverpool.
Los Blancos value the 30-year-old greatly but are not expected to stand in his way and will listen to United’s bid.
Casemiro currently has three years left on his contract at Santiago Bernabeu, and is being offered a five-year deal by the Premier League outfit. The defensive midfielder, who has won everything possible in the Spanish capital, is said to be attracted by the proposal of United.
