Ten Hag Considering To Sign Former United Forward – He Could Replace Ronaldo
Manchester United are keeping tabs on Memphis Depay, as Cristiano Ronaldo’s future remains uncertain in the final week of the transfer window.
United have been drawn to face Real Sociedad, FC Sheriff and Omonoia in the Europa League group stages. However, their star player has his eyes set on playing in the Champions League. It is understood that Ronaldo’s representatives are working on finding a new club for the Portuguese icon.
Meanwhile, according to the the Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are considering to bring back Depay.
The former United forward still has a year left on his Barcelona contract, but the Spanish outfit are prepared to sell the 28-year-old following Robert Lewandowski’s arrival.
The Netherlands international has worked with Erik ten Hag when the United boss was an assistant coach at PSV Eindhoven.
Ten Hag is also very close to getting reunited with another of his former forwards. It is claimed that United are confident of signing Antony from Ajax before next week’s transfer deadline. The Premier League giants are expected to submit an improved bid for the Brazilian.
The Dutchman’s frontline would be greatly bolstered if United manage to sign both Depay and Antony, and United’s goal tally is likely to see a rise even in the situation Ronaldo departs.
