Man United are set to make a massive signing to back Erik ten Hag’s rebuild that has already seen four new stars welcomed at Carrington this summer.

Casemiro became the Red Devils’ fourth summer arrival just before their Liverpool game. The Brazilian made his debut in United’s rare away win against Southampton. Nevertheless, their performance, especially going forward, wasn’t very good on the south coast this weekend.

Ten Hag has demanded a new right-winger to improve the dynamics of his attack all summer, and the club hierarchy are finally set to meet his request.

According to The Athletic, United are close to an agreement worth €100m with Ajax for Antony.

The Dutch outfit, who rejected United’s third bid – worth in the region of €90m – have been very reluctant to let their star right-winger leave. But Antony has been determined to reunite with his former boss in England. After Ajax rejected a third bid on Friday, the 22-year-old gave an interview to Fabrizio Romano to reiterate his desire to depart.

Since then progress has been made in negotiations between the two clubs and there’s increasing confidence at United that the deal will get done. The agreement will be worth €100m including add-ons.

As per Mike Verweij, an agreement has been reached on the main details of the transfer fee of United’s fifth signing.
