Antony Deal Agreed – After The Brazilian Another Player Is Pushing To Join United
Manchester United have agreed to sign Antony from Ajax in a blockbuster move, as Old Trafford remains premium destination for players despite a lack of Champions League football.
Ajax were very reluctant to sell their talisman Antony, rejecting three bids from United before this weekend. But such was Antony’s desire to reunite with his former boss Erik ten Hag that he did everything in his power, including missing training sessions in Amsterdam since last week. He also didn’t feature in Ajax’s last two league matches.
The iconic Dutch outfit weren’t left with any other option but to accept the Red Devils’ bid late in the window. Nevertheless, Ajax have still managed to agree a massive fee believed to be in the region of €100m for the 22-year-old winger.
Antony will sign a contract until June 2027 with an option for a further year at United. He will be in Manchester next week to complete the biggest transfer in the Eredivisie history.
The Brazil international isn’t the only player who’s determined to play for the Premier League giants.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United are in talks with Newcastle to sign Martin Dubravka on loan. Eddie Howe isn’t very keen on losing his goalkeeper, but the 33-year-old is doing “an Antony” and pushing to secure his move before the end of the current transfer window.
