Manchester United Working On Signing Monaco Star – His Future Has Been Decided
AS Monaco right-back Vanderson will reportedly not continue at the club beyond this season, as Europe’s biggest clubs circle for his services.
The Brazilian moved to Ligue 1 from Grêmio only in January. But such was his start at Monaco, that the French outfit extended his contract for one additional season in August to ensure his long-term future remains at the Stade Louis II.
However, Spanish outlet Sport (via SportWitness) claim that it has been decided that the ongoing campaign will be his final one in Monaco.
Barcelona failed in their attempts to lure Vanderson in the recently concluded window due to the French side’s €60m asking price. But it has been reported that the Spanish giants still have the player on their radar.
Manchester United are also in the race for his signature, and have already started working on a deal to sign the right-back.
Diogo Dalot has been solid so far under Erik ten Hag, but the lack of alternatives has forced the Dutchman to look for another right-back to strengthen the position.
Earlier this month, The Athletic suggested Ten Hag was open to reunite with former Ajax full-back Sergino Dest. But the United hierarchy decided to back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and the Barcelona outcast landed at AC Milan on deadline day instead.
