“I’d move him out quickly” – Roy Keane on Manchester United star after final PL game
David De Gea has won the Golden Glove award for the 2022-23 season, but his overall performance has left many unconvinced that he’s good enough to remain Manchester United’s No. 1 next campaign.
The Spaniard didn’t add to his clean-sheet tally of 17 against Fulham, as Kenny Tete’s powerful header rattled the net at the Stretford End.
The corner that led to the eventual goal came following De Gea’s failure to claim a lobbed pass from Harry Wilson, forcing Harry Maguire to back-pedal and head the ball out.

But he quickly redeemed himself by denying Aleksander Mitrovic from doubling Fulham’s lead from the penalty spot. Just before the break, Jadon Sancho found the equaliser before Bruno Fernandes chipped Fred’s glorious through ball over Bernd Leno to put United in front.
After the full-time whistle, the 32-year-old lifted his award and received pats on his back from his teammates. But former United captain Roy Keane didn’t seem in the same celebratory mood during his analysis for Sky Sports, as he insisted De Gea should be quickly moved out of United.
“I’d move him out quickly De Gea. He wouldn’t be for me. He’s not going to get Man United back winning trophies. Absolutely not,” Keane said.

De Gea’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June, and as things stand, the FA Cup final will be his last opportunity to play for the Red Devils.
However, Keane’s opinion is not shared by the main man in charge at Old Trafford. After securing third place in the Premier League, Erik ten Hag ‘repeated’ he wants De Gea to stay and is confident United will find an agreement to extend his stay.
