PL midfielder set to join Manchester United after agreeing personal terms
Mauricio Pochettino’s formal announcement as Chelsea’s new manager this week has set the ball rolling for what is expected to be a summer of exodus.
Mason Mount is likely to be the first one out the door at Stamford Bridge, with a report from the Telegraph suggesting the 24-year-old has agreed personal terms with Manchester United. It is added that the Red Devils are now expected to secure the services of the Chelsea midfielder.
Liverpool and Arsenal are also interested in the Chelsea academy product. Jurgen Klopp intends to add at least two midfielders to his ranks, and Mikel Arteta remains keen on improving his squad depth.
Mount set to swap Chelsea for Manchester United
However, Erik ten Hag is confident he can convince the England international to move to Old Trafford. The Dutch coach wants to add a more dynamic presence to his midfield.
It is believed that United are closing in on his signature after talks progressed positively in recent days.
Chelsea have failed to find an agreement over a new contract with Mount and Pochettino’s arrival has seemingly not made any difference. With only a year left on his contract, the Blues would prefer to cash in on the versatile player this summer instead of losing him on a free transfer in 2024.
Mateo Kovacic, whose contract situation is no different, is also on the radar of a Manchester club.

Manchester City are interested in signing the former Real Madrid man and have been granted permission by Chelsea to talk to the player.
13 players arrived at Stamford Bridge across the two transfer windows last season, leaving the squad bloated. As such, Chelsea are prioritising selling players this summer before allowing Pochettino to jump into the transfer market to strengthen his side.
