Kylian Mbappe’s decision to not take up the option of a one-year extension in his contract that is valid till 2024 may force Paris Saint-Germain to intensify their search for attacking reinforcements. The Ligue 1 giants would prefer to sell Mbappe this summer instead of losing him for nothing in 12 months.

Marco Asensio has already agreed to move to the French capital, but PSG need to do a lot more to replace Lionel Messi and potentially Mbappe.

Marcus Rashford has long been of interest to PSG. They explored a move for the England international last year and publicly declared their interest in bringing him to Parc des Princes. However, following the recent development at Manchester United, the French outfit will have to explore other options to strengthen their frontline.

Rashford to commit his long-term future to Manchester United

Rashford’s priority has always been to continue at his boyhood club, and now, he’s close to signing a new contract. As per The Telegraph, discussions over a ‘lucrative’ new deal for the 25-year-old are at an advanced stage. Both sides are confident of wrapping up a deal soon and potentially before the start of United’s pre-season.

The Englishman touched the 30-goal mark in all competitions for United, and his contract extension will be a huge boost for manager Erik ten Hag.

However, the United boss is hoping to ease his talisman’s burden by signing a top-class striker. But it’s not proving a ‘straight forward’ hunt so far.

Harry Kane, who brilliantly linked with Rashford in England’s 7-0 win in the Euros qualifiers, is open to moving to Old Trafford, but Tottenham Hotspur have shown little desire to sit at the table to discuss a potential transfer to another English club.
