Manchester United and Barcelona are keeping tabs on Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, as per reports.

Amadou Onana’s exploits at Everton are starting to attract interest from Europe’s biggest clubs. The Belgian midfielder, who has started 12 Premier Leagues under Sean Dyche this season, has caught eyes with his immense physical profile.

Standing at 6ft 4in, Onana dominates both aerial and ground duels in the middle of the park and boasts athleticism to cover ground out of possession. His long legs often come in handy during tackles, preventing ball carriers from running through the middle.

The 22-year-old only joined Everton last summer from Lille and the way he is raising eyebrows all around Europe with his performances, it may prove to be an uphill task for the Toffees to keep hold of their talent for long.

As per Santi Aouna (via UtdDistrict), United are ‘very interested’ in Onana, who could depart Goodison Park in January or in the summer transfer window.

United have struggled out of possession in transition situations all season and could certainly do with a midfielder of Onana’s skill set. The Belgium international has the ability to slot in as a sole defensive midfielder as well as a pivot midfielder in the Red Devils’ setup.

It is reported that Everton are looking for a fee between £47-52m. Barcelona, who themselves are in need of a new midfielder amid Gavi’s long-term absence and Pedri’s persistent injury problems, are also understood to be monitoring Onana’s situation.
