Christian Eriksen is in talks to leave Manchester United before the close of the Turkish transfer window on Friday.

The Denmark international has been sparsely used by Erik ten Hag this season due to his injury issues as well as lackluster performances when given rare opportunities. He has only started nine Premier League games this term.

With Kobbie Mainoo stealing the spotlight with his promising exploits in the middle of the park and Casemiro returning to full fitness, Ten Hag isn’t dependent on Eriksen as much as he was early in the season.

He remained an unused substitute in United’s 3-0 win over West Ham. Mainoo started alongside Casemiro and Scott McTominay was brought off the bench in the second half.

Galatasaray working on signing Manchester United midfielder

Amid his far-from-favourable situation at Old Trafford, Christian Eriksen has been reportedly approached by Galatasaray.

According to Foto Mac (via The Sun), the 31-year-old could join the Turkish outfit before their transfer window shuts on Friday. It’s claimed that the versatile midfielder is continuing negotiations with Galatasaray “in great secrecy.”

Further, a loan with an option to buy is thought to be the preferred structure of the deal.

Eriksen’s current contract at United runs until 2025. The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder joined the Red Devils on a free transfer after enjoying an impressive spell at Brentford.
