Manchester United could get Barca forward in swap deal involving Mason Greenwood

Manchester United have been looking to offload Mason Greenwood for a while now and an interesting opportunity may have come up.

The FFP restrictions are likely to be a massive factor in Manchester United’s summer transfer window. Despite SJR’s big-money presence, the club’s spending power is severely hampered and the simple fact remains that they will have to sell a lot in order to buy a lot.

In that respect, Mason Greenwood is a potential game changer to the club. The controversial teenager has been doing well at Getafe and United are looking to finally capitalize on this with respect to a sale as well as clearing the PR headache that the academy graduate brings with him.

The side has reportedly already activated a year-long extension to his contract in order to facilitate this and it is understood that Getafe are keen on a further extension to Greenwood’s loan spell.

The La Liga has clearly taken note of this as HITC reports that both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are interested in acquiring the 22-year-old.

In particular, Barca could strike a deal with Manchester United which would see the Old Trafford outfit receive Vitor Roque in exchange for Greenwood in what would be a swap deal. They would also be willing to include other players in a swap deal.

Vitor Roque’s time with the Spanish giants has been a mixed one but it is clear that the 19-year-old is a name with much promise and potential.

Moreover, given the state of United’s frontline and the impending exit of Anthony Martial, the Brazilian can easily slot in as the striker that United’s gaffer will need in order to fix their paltry goalscoring woes.
