Manchester United have seemingly revisited their interest in Benjamin Sesko ahead of this summer’s transfer window.

In the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, the Red Devils played their most attacking football under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The former striker certainly knew how to get the best of Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes.

However, his side struggled to take that next step in the absence of an elite striker – an issue that Solskjaer certainly recognized and tried to address.

Much has been written about his desire to bring Erling Haaland to Old Trafford. But it is understood that Solskjaer was also interested in Benjamin Sesko, only for the club’s hierarchy to disagree with his assessment.

A few years later, Benjamin Sesko, now at RB Leipzig, has emerged as one of Europe’s hottest goal-scores, leading to interest from a number of top clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United, among other clubs, have approached Sesko ahead of the summer transfer window.

Under Erik ten Hag, United’s attack has underwhelmed and could do with a striker of Sesko’s calibre. The 21-year-old scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga this season.

As is the case with such talents, the Old Trafford outfit will have to spend big to bring him to Manchester. It is claimed that Sesko will cost €65 million this summer.

Further, United may need to do hard work to convince the striker to join Ten Hag’s side considering Arsenal and Chelsea have also made an approach for him.
