When will Luke Shaw and Noussair Mazraoui return to action for Manchester United

Erik ten Hag continues to deal with an injury crisis, with Manchester United having just one available full back at the moment.

It’s October and United have already played seven games in the Premier League. The Red Devils have also started their League Cup and Europa League campaigns.

In all of these fixtures, Ten Hag has had to make do with a right-back and a midfielder at left-back, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia sidelined due to injuries.

Diogo Dalot has mainly been trusted to cover the position in the league and Europe, while Toby Collyer got the nod in the League Cup against Barnsley. Now that Noussair Mazraoui is also sidelined, Ten Hag is expected to face further selection headaches.

Manchester United right-back Noussair Mazraoui likely to return within three weeks

Noussair Mazraoui, who moved to Manchester United from Bayern Munich, has been an impressive addition to their ranks this term.

Recently, the Moroccan star underwent a heart procedure and is set for a brief lay-off.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Mazraoui should return to action within three weeks.

“Club sources have said Noussair Mazraoui’s corrective heart procedure is, thankfully, not alarming and he is expected to be available within three weeks,” claimed their report.

Further, Luke Shaw, who has not played for the Mancunian side since February of this year, is nearing a return to action.

The Englishman has missed the opening phase of the new season due to a calf issue. A report from the Manchester Evening News expects Shaw to return against Brentford, Ten Hag’s side’s first opposition after the international break.
