Man Utd Interested In Signing Midfielder From Premier League Opponents
Yves Bissouma is attracting ‘significant interest’ from top clubs around Europe.
Brighton & Hove Albion are struggling in the Premier League this season and could find themselves in a more difficult situation come January.
Graham Potter’s side like to maintain possession and be on the front foot – irrespective of the teams they are up against, and in Bissouma, they possess a midfielder that seems tailor-made for that approach.
The Mali international is excellent at retaining possession, and comfortable on the ball when Brighton try to build from the back. All these qualities along with his physical presence in the middle has now attracted attention from several clubs.
According to Jonathan Shrager, there is ‘significant interest’ in the 24-year-old from Man Utd, Liverpool, and Arsenal. The interest for the dynamic midfielder is not limited to just Premier League clubs, but also from Ligue 1 giants Monaco, and two other clubs from Spain.
Despite Scott McTominay and Fred’s consistent performances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, rumours continue to link new midfielders with Man Utd, mainly due to uncertainty regarding Paul Pogba’s future.
Liverpool are in a similar situation, as Georginio Wijnaldum is yet to sign a new contract, and will be free to leave Anfield next summer.
It is unclear if said clubs will make a move for Bissouma next month or in the summer transfer window, but considering Brighton just sit two points above the relegation zone, they are expected do everything to keep their midfield engine at the Amex Stadium, or else his exit in January will more or less end the Seagulls’ hope of staying in the Premier League for another campaign.
