No New Contract: Two Players Are Set To Leave Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that contracts of Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero will not be extended.

Amad Diallo has landed in Manchester after obtaining all the required paperwork, and by the looks of it, the Ivorian winger might just be the only new arrival this month at Old Trafford.

Nonetheless, the Red Devils are working to offload several players, and are exploring both loan and permanent transfer options.

Speaking ahead of the FA Cup tie against Watford, Solskjaer confirmed that the club have asked Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero to find new destinations, with the contracts of the Argentine duo coming to end in the summer.

The Norwegian praised the professionalism of both players, and cleared United’s stance regarding their future, saying:“Both of them have contracts until the summer and they’re not gonna be extended, we’re looking for them to find clubs.”

Both Romero and Rojo are currently in Argentina, and the former has reportedly already bid farewell to the club’s staff. The 33-year-old is training in Buenos Aires, and is linked with a potential move to Boca Juniors.

The former Sporting Lisbon man is also expected to find a club in his home country, after a brief spell at Estudiantes last season.

Although it’s unlikely that United will receive sizeable transfer fees, if any, for the winter transfers of the veteran pair, freeing up some money on the wage bill would still be a welcome move, as they’ve struggled to clear out deadwoods in past.
