Raphael Varane’s transfer to Manchester United seems to be all but done, with the English club now planning when to formalise his transfer.

Real and United have been in direct contacts in the last few days to thrash out a deal to conclude Varane’s switch from Madrid to Manchester.

With the Frenchman’s contract at Santiago Bernabeu expiring in the summer of 2022, both clubs want this transfer to go through now and have had positive discussions over the weekend.

In fact, the Red Devils are so confident that they will reach agreement with Los Blancos that they hope to announce his arrival to Old Trafford this week, reports French outlet TF1.

Varane, meanwhile, has already made up his mind and has agreed personal terms with United. He wants a new experience, and sees the Premier League giants as his next ideal destination. Incidentally, he previously came close to moving to the Theatre of Dreams in 2011 from his boyhood club RC Lens.

The centre-back, however, wants to leave the Spanish capital in a respectful way to the club, and was present at their pre-season training today as well.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be delighted to sign two high-profile players in Jadon Sancho and Varane so early in the window, and will hope to get both ready and settled ahead of the equally high-profile clash against Leeds United.
