‘He’s Back’ – Marcus Rashford Scores Two Goals In A Friendly vs Blackburn Rovers

Marcus Rashford has marked his return to the pitch by scoring against Blackburn Rovers behind closed doors.

Manchester United seem to be making the best of the international break. According to the Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell, the Red Devils beat Blackburn by three goals to nil.

However, the biggest highlight from the friendly was Rashford’s involvement. The Englishman had undergone surgery back in the summer and had been slowly making his recovery.

The closed-doors tie was the Englishman’s first time back in action in over three months. And it took him no time to pick up right where he had left off as he went on to score a brace in the fixture.

The early signs look positive for the England international as his reintroduction back into the first-team approaches. Although scoring in a friendly doesn’t mean he can be thrown back into the starting XI, it is definitely a sign of things to come.

With Jadon Sancho somewhat struggling to adapt to the Premier League so far into the season, the forward making a comeback could ease Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s worries. Despite suffering from an ongoing injury, the left-winger performed exceptionally last season, so his importance in the squad is no secret.

Moreover, the youngster will offer the depth Solskjaer needs and make things easier when it comes to squad rotation.

However, this also means some players are going to find it harder to get regular minutes. It seems very unlikely that the 23-year-old will be confined to the bench as he is an integral member of the squad. The likes of Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard were already struggling to break into the first XI and things just became harder for them.
