“He Doesn’t Want To Stay” – Anthony Martial Wants January Exit From Man United
Anthony Martial is looking for a move away from Man United, his agent has confirmed.
The Frenchman is unhappy with the playing time at United, having only made two starts in the Premier League this season.
Martial couldn’t compete with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, and Mason Greenwood for a starting spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It seems he has no desire to fight for his place under the German as well.
The 26-year-old’s agent Philippe Lamboley told Sky Sports News: “Anthony wishes to leave the club in January.
“He just needs to play. He doesn’t want to stay in January and I will speak to the club soon.”
He is yet to feature in the first two games of Ralf Rangnick’s reign due to a knee injury, and might have already played his final game in a United shirt.
Martial still has at least three years left on his contract at Old Trafford, allowing the Red Devils to command a hefty fee in the January transfer window. However, a permanent transfer mid-season is going to be tricky to engineer.
Meanwhile, the France international’s exit could spell good news for Anthony Elanga. The United academy graduate operates in a similar position to Martial, and has already impressed Rangnick in training. He was consequently rewarded with a start against Young Boys in the Champions League.
