Man Utd interim boss Ralf Rangnick values Donny van de Beek and will not allow the outcast under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to leave.

Van de Beek had reportedly made up his mind to leave the club in January after featuring sparingly under the Norwegian at the start of the season.

Solskjaer’s dismissal brought in a renewed optimism for the Dutchman to revive his career. However, he didn’t start in any of the four Premier League games post the United legend’s sacking, leaving some hope for potential suitors to still pursue the former Ajax man in the winter window.

Nevertheless, Rangnick has decided against his transfer. The 24-year-old versatile midfielder is valued by the German and will not be allowed to leave, the Mirror have reported.

Bruno Fernandes is still an undisputable starter at Old Trafford, but has endured a dip in form as of late. With Van de Beek waiting in the wings, the Portugal international could lose his starting spot if he doesn’t step up.

Rangnick is also believed to be reluctant to let Ajax target Dean Henderson leave next month due to the lack of a reliable cover for David de Gea.

However, the report adds that the manager is open to sanction Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard’s exit, with both attackers struggling for game-time.

United are said to prefer the pair’s exit on a permanent basis, but their high valuation means loan is the best hope for both Martial and Lingard to leave in January. Although the latter also have an option to leave for free at the end of the season if nothing materialises in the coming weeks.
