Fabrizio claims Manchester United are “big favourites” to sign Napoli star
Manchester City are closer than ever to matching Manchester United’s treble success, as they breezed past Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate to book their place in the final of the Champions League.
Pep Guardiola’s men will have to face United at Wembley in their pursuit of the FA Cup. The meeting in the final provides the Sky Blues the opportunity to not only take a big stride toward their treble goal but also show the gap between them and their neighbours has never been wider.
As City head to the climax of the season with hopes of making history, United enter the final part not knowing who will be the owners of the club beyond the summer.
Manchester United need more quality signings to compete with City
Irrespective of the result in the Manchester derby early in June, Erik ten Hag needs backing in the summer transfer window from the hierarchy to properly challenge City next season.
The Dutch coach along with United’s recruitment team is already working on transfer plans. According to Manchester Evening News, United aim to be in the market for more established targets in the upcoming window.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano (via UtdDistrict) has claimed that Manchester United are the ‘big favourites’ to sign Kim Min-jae by paying the release clause of the Napoli star. However, it is added that the Red Devils have not made any concrete steps yet because ‘it depends on the new owners’.

In Napoli’s title-winning season, the 26-year-old has shown he is one of the centre-backs in Europe. What makes him even more attractive for United is his release clause which is slightly less than €50 million and is valid from the ‘first days’ of July.
United are also monitoring his teammate Victor Osimhen. But Harry Kane is understood to be their priority target for the centre forward position.
