Manchester United approached by Real Sociedad
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish outfit made formal contact with United for Donny van de Beek on Tuesday, and the two clubs are now discussing formula and terms over a deal.
La Real are in the market for a new creative midfielder following David Silva’s retirement announcement which came after the former Manchester City man suffered a serious knee injury.
Meanwhile, Van de Beek is keen for regular game-time to revive his career. But despite being handed significant minutes during pre-season, including a start in the 3-2 defeat against Borussia Dortmund, the Netherlands international is likely to spend a large part of the season on the bench due to the presence of Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount in the middle of the park.
