Sevilla are set to sign Manchester United forward Mateo Mejia on a permanent transfer this January, according to Fabrizio Romano.

It seems Sevilla have set their signs on Carrington to survive their relegation battle this summer. Quique Sanchez Flores’s side sit 17th on the La Liga standings with four losses in their last five outings.

The Spanish outfit are in desperate need of reinforcements in all areas of the squad and have accordingly held talks with United to address at least two positions.

Sevilla agree deal to sign Manchester United talent

Much has been reported about their interest in Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri. It is understood the Tunisian talent has accepted to join Sevilla, but the La Liga side are yet to find an agreement with the Red Devils. Everton are also thought to be interested in signing Hannibal.

As Sevilla wait for United’s final decision on their midfielder, they’ve supposedly convinced them to let go of one of their forwards.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Sevilla have agreed a deal to sign Mateo Mejia from United on a permanent transfer. The 2003-born striker will move to Spain without any fee involved as his contract in Manchester is due to expire at the end of the term. However, United will have a 25 percent sell-on clause for the Colombian talent.

The 20-year-old, who joined United from Spanish second-tier side Real Zaragoza in 2019, will depart Old Trafford without any senior appearance under his belt.
