Paul Pogba’s Presence Alone Will Earn United £40m

Manchester United’s latest signing, Paul Pogba, could earn the club up to £40 million in commercial income.

The 23-year-old is due to be officially announced as a Manchester United player, but Jose Mourinho has already confirmed that he will be signing for the club.

“It’s amazing that such a good player is with us and finally we have him,” Mourinho spoke after Manchester United won the 2016 FA Community Shield.

He added: “He comes to a winning side, a side that won their last two finals – the cup final and the charity shield – so, he will have to work hard to get in the team.”

Pogba is set to make a record-breaking £112 million worth return to Manchester United, four years after he left the club on a free transfer.

However, the French powerhouse brings with him value in terms of commercial income – this includes promotions and other various new deals. The Sunday Times report that this commercial income is worth up to £40 million for his first year in the club.

Should these projections come true, it would mean that Pogba would already knock about 35% of his initial transfer value in one year.

But, the Red Devils will also have to pay a third of Pogba’s transfer fee as part of a sell-on clause to Mino Raiola, the same agent who convinced Pogba to leave the Red Devils in 2012.

Paul Pogba’s addition to Mourinho’s squad will take Manchester United’s summer spending to more than £150 million. However, Manchester United have already recorded £500 million in profit from the start of the year, meaning that Paul Pogba is good business.

United are looking to regain their dominance in the Premier League, with many reporters believing that they could win the Barclays Premier League this season.

One thing is for certain, Manchester United still know how to make money despite their recent run of bad results.
