Arsenal Prepare Bid For Rodriguez
Arsenal are preparing a bid for Real Madrid star James Rodriguez, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.
The Gunners have spent most of the transfer window chasing Leicester City stars Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez. But, having missed out on both of them, the club’s focus has now seemingly switched towards Rodriguez.
The Colombian has fallen down the pecking order at the Bernabeu, and the emergence of Marco Asensio hasn’t made life any easier for the attacking midfielder.
Arsenal fans are growing agitated at the lack of transfer business the club has conducted this summer. Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding are the only players the club has managed to sign in this transfer window, and the Gunners fans have had to painfully watch their fiercest rivals go from strength to strength in the transfer market.
The North London club are reportedly on the verge of striking a deal with La Liga club Valencia for the transfer of German defender Shkodran Mustafi. Several top newspapers in Germany and England confirmed that Mustafi has said yes to a move to the Emirates, but no deal has been agreed between the two clubs yet.

Arsenal are desperate for a top quality attacker, and Rodriguez could be the perfect fit should Real decide to sell him.
Zidane has no place for Rodriguez in his plans, according to Marca. And if this is true, Arsenal will hope to capitalize on the situation.
The last time Real and Arsenal did business together was in 2013, when attacking midfielder Mesut Ozil made the switch to the Emirates in a £42.5 million deal.
Arsenal have been desperate to sign a striker, and attempted to lure Jamie Vardy away from Leicester, but the Englishman decided to remain with the Foxes and signed a new contract with the club. Mahrez was also being constantly linked to the Gunners, but Leicester were determined to keep hold of the PFA Player of the year.
