Jose Mourinho has identified Celtic wonderkid Moussa Dembele, who is being dubbed as the “new Didier Drogba,” as a potential transfer target.

According to Daily Mail, the Manchester United manager has been keeping an eye on Dembele for a while now, and is said to have scouted him around three times while the player was still at Fulham. The Red Devils also reportedly had scouts present at a France Under-21 match on Monday to watch the youngster in action.

United and Mourinho are keen on bringing the 20-year-old sensation to Old Trafford, but will face stiff competition from the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, and Arsenal, who have all been tracking the Frenchman’s progress at Celtic. Tottenham Hotspur were also keen, but failed with a bid last January.

It is unlikely that the Hoops will be willing to let Dembele leave so soon, having only signed the forward in the summer. The club will reportedly not be entertaining any bids for the player once the winter transfer window reopens in January, and it is understood that Dembele is also hesitant to leave the club after only four months.

Dembele has been a sensation at Celtic since his move to the Scottish club in the summer. The 20-year-old has made 19 appearances this season, and has been scoring at a prolific rate, with 14 goals in the games he’s played so far – including 3 goals in 4 appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

The Frenchman has been compared to legendary Ivory Coast striker Didier Drogba, and could very well be on his way to the Theatre of Dreams next summer. However, for now, he will remain put.
