Chelsea To Sell Oscar For A Massive £60m Fee

Chinese Club Shanghai SIPG are reportedly ready to lure Oscar away from Chelsea this January with a whopping fee of £60m, in order to strengthen their squad.

With Chelsea on a hot streak of winning form, it is understandable for new manager Antonio Conte to play the same starting XI to keep that run going, and hence, a few players might just start getting frustrated being benched day in and day out.

Oscar, a Chelsea player since 2012, is definitely one of them, as after starting the first 5 matches under Antonio Conte, he has just featured as a substitute for a total of 36 minutes till today.

Having recently fallen ill, Oscar might not be in the squad to face Sunderland on Wednesday as well, and his time away from the pitch will continue to increase.

Oscar will be the second Brazilian in two years to leave the club for the Chinese league, following Ramires’s footsteps, who joined Jiangsu Suning during last year’s winter window for a fee excess of £20m.

Oscar has never shone as per his capabilities in his time at Chelsea, and such an offer might be impossible to refuse for both the club and the player. And as for Shanghai SIPG boss Andre Villas Boas, the young manager will finally get the player he has been wanting since his Tottenham days back in 2012.

Both Guangzhou Evergrande, led by Luiz Felipe Scolari, a former Chelsea manager, and Jiangsu Suning have shown their interests in the player, but AVB is confident of winning the race to sign the young Brazilian.

Having made 99 Premier League starts, the 100th one seems very distant for Oscar, and before he loses his touch and age catches up with him, a move away in order to get regular play time will be the wisest choice for his footballing career.
