Sevilla Eye Martial Loan Deal In January
Sevilla have made contact with Manchester United forward Anthony Martial’s agent to discuss a loan deal next month, as per Get France Football News.
Martial’s agent has also claimed he and his client are now considering interest from Sevilla, as the Manchester United youngster has decided to secure his future away from Old Trafford.
It is believed that Sevilla manager Jorge Sampaoli has given the green light for the La Liga side’s Sporting Director Monchi to start talking over a deal with the Red Devils.
Martial came off the bench for only the last 16 minutes of Manchester United’s 3-1 against Sunderland on Boxing Day, and has found himself just one of his club’s last four competitive fixture’s starting line-ups.
The 21-year-old France international has really struggled to make an impact under Jose Mourinho this season, scoring only once and providing three assists in 11 Premier League outings, and even the United boss said this week that Martial has to work harder to earn a regular starting place.
However, Martial’s agent, Philippe Lamboley, told ABC de Sevilla that Sevilla’s hopes of securing the Martial loan deal in January may not be so unrealistic, despite Mourinho’s reluctance to let the forward leave.
“We’re studying the Sevilla option very closely,” Lamboley said. “Sevilla is a very good club, in a good position in La Liga. They’re in the Champions League and have a great coach. That’s what I can say.”
Martial was informed by Mourinho earlier this week that he has to follow the example set by teammate Henrikh Mkhitaryan if he wants to get back into the United starting eleven.
