Report: Manchester United Reach Agreement With AS Monaco For Star Attacker
Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign AS Monaco’s 22-year-old attacking midfielder Bernardo Silva.
According to the French news outlet Le10Sport, this agreement with Les Monégasques gives Manchester United the first option to buy the most wanted star in the upcoming summer and Bernardo, who has been a complete revelation for the French giants, could join the Old Trafford outfit for a pre-set transfer fee this summer.
Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes, who also represents Jose Mourinho, is thought to be the reason behind this upper hand and judging by the look of the things, the deal might get through. Furthermore, the catch in the deal is – according to Star Sport – there is an expiry date and a set price, but the exact amount is still a mystery.
There is no confirmation from either side regarding the same, but it well and truly understood that the Red Devils know how to announce a new signing.
A few week back, it was reported that Manchester United will have to cash out a fee of around £70 million to acquire his signature, but that has all went down the drain.

Besides this, it was also quoted by The Times that Chelsea initiated the talks with AS Monaco to sign to Silva, who is also a reported target of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City, but with Jorge Mendes coming into the picture, United have been pushed into the front seat in the negotiation.
But in footballing terms – It is not over until it’s over – hence, Manchester United will have to act swiftly as there are many hunting parties in the market. But besides that, the Devils will have to negotiate the on paper amount as well, as the reported £70 million fee for a 22-year-old (not so) unknown quantity seems to be a lofty one.
But then again, as United have the upper hand in the depiction, they will have to be cautious about their current roster. Silva surely is a versatile attacker who will bring a different dimension to their attack, but with Lingard, Martial, Mkhitaryan, Mata and Rashford already fighting for their respective spots, this new arrival from Monaco might create a nuisance in the dressing room.
