Everton Set To Make Move For Wayne Rooney This Summer After Failed January Bid

Wayne Rooney, despite turning into Manchester United’s greatest ever goal scorer and a club legend, has never had a certain and sure future at the club and with age catching up with the captain, rumours have never been stronger than before regarding him being linked with multiple clubs across the world for his world class services.
One club targeting the signature of United’s number 10 is former club Everton, who according to reports from The Mirror , made an attempt to sign their man in the winter window which was eventually rejected.
Rooney, who left Everton for £27 million in 2004, will now be reviewed at the end of the season by the Blues and whether making another move for him in the summer will be a wise choice is yet to be discussed.
Ronald Koeman, Everton manager, however is a strong fan of Wayne Rooney and was reported saying,”Yeah I think Wayne Rooney is still on that high level to compete in a competition like the Premier League.
“Everybody knows if you make a choice like China it is not about football on a high level anymore – the first reason is about money. You are not really involved in European football. China is a totally different level of football, so then you say goodbye to the highest competition.”

Despite Wayne Rooney’s agent, Paul Stretford appearing in China a couple of times, a move to the country has now been postponed at least until the summer.
Rooney’s response to rumours linking him elsewhere was in a manner which reassured his United fans of his stay. He said, “Despite the interest which has been shown from other clubs, for which I’m grateful, I want to end recent speculation and say that I am staying at Manchester United.”
A lack of time was the reason for not taking a major decision for his future in football, thus securing his place in the club he loves with dear life until the end of the season.
However, a player of Wayne Rooney’s stature will not be easily convinced to spend his final footballing years on the bench and hence a summer move might be inevitable for the England captain.
