Real Madrid’s Chief Scout Watched Courtois And De Gea During FA Cup Clash

Real Madrid’s international department chief, Juni Calafat, was present at Stamford Bridge on Monday to scout both David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois, according to reports.

Juni Calafat, who is in charge of Real Madrid’s transfers, was present in London on a scouting mission, and watched Chelsea host Manchester United in a high-profile FA Cup quarterfinal, which the Blues ended up winning 1-0 thanks to an N’Golo Kante goal.

The Los Blancos chief reportedly scouted David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois – two of the best goalkeepers in not just England, but the entire world – as Real continue to remain in the hunt for a suitable man between their sticks.

Current Real Madrid no. 1 Keylor Navas’ future at the Santiago Bernabeu remains highly doubtful, and the La Liga giants look set to replace the Costa Rican at the end of the season.

As per Marca, Calafat scouted the two Premier League shot-stoppers, as well as a few other players, throughout the game, and then spent some time in the “player room” after the full-time whistle, so as to speak with a few club officials.

Real Madrid sending their main scout to watch these two goalkeepers indicates the fact that they will definitely be submitting a bid for at least one of these players, if not both, and get the transfer done as soon as the summer transfer window opens.
