The Red Devils are set to receive a shocker as their three-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year – David de Gea – wants to end his Manchester United tenure.

It is no secret that the 26-year-old is being chased by his former inter-city rivals Real Madrid, and if the reports from Spanish news outlet ABC is to be believed, then De Gea is ready to make a move away from Old Trafford to Santiago Bernabeu.

He came agonisingly close to joining the Los Blancos back in the summer of 2015, but the technical failure allowed Manchester United to retain their prized possession and just two weeks later, the stopper signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2019.

But now, the Spanish outlet has claimed that the Spanish stopper and his agent Jorge Mendes are ready to put pressure on the club to allow him to move. They also claim that United are ready to offer him a cash-rich contract, but the Spaniard is set to snub any such deal in order to make a move.

A couple of days back, Spanish football pundit Guillem Balague claimed that it is sure that Real Madrid wants to add a top class keeper to replace Keylor Navas, but they do not really have any specific preferences between De Gea and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois.

“I’m not sure if there is a preference towards one because they have targeted both, and that’s a normal approach,” Balague told Sky Sports.

“Go for both and either get one of them, or force the other to think they are not first choice, both outcomes which work in the club’s favour.”

Both the keepers are said to be in the list of the Galacticos and it will be interesting to see who ends up joining the Bernabeu premises. Both Courtois and De Gea have played for Atletico Madrid and the move will surely bring an upset amongst the Rojiblancos’ supporters.
