Spanish Newspaper says Manchester clubs have made an offer to sign Sergio Busquets

According to Spanish paper Sport, Manchester United, Manchester City and PSG are all interested to sign Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets.

Manchester United – who are willing to splash £77.3million for the Spaniard – are one of the most probable options for the 27-year-old should he take the very unlikely decision to leave Camp Nou, says the outlet.

Sergio Busquets came through the academy at Barcelona and has made more than 350 appearances for the La Liga leaders, winning five La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey titles and three Champions League trophies, and has remained one of the first names on the team sheet under Barcelona’s last four managers.

Sport also claims that all the three clubs have tabled bids for the midfielder, and are now waiting to see how contract negotiations go for one of the best defensive midfielder in the game, who is tied under contract at Barcelona until 2019 with £115.75 million release clause.

Manchester City seem to be ahead in the race for the 27-year-old, as he has already expressed his desire to work again with Pep Guardiola.

He told ESPN: “I have always said there are just two persons who could make me change my decision to stay at Barcelona.

“One of those two persons is my wife. And she is happy here right now, so I don’t think there will be any issues on a personal level.

“On a sporting level, that other person is Guardiola. It’s clear that I owe Pep a lot and I would be honoured to work with him again.”

Jose Mourinho’s appointment at Manchester United may completely eliminate the Red Devils from the race to sign Busquets, with the midfielder not being particularly keen to work with the ‘Special One’.
