Victor Lindelof has been linked with a move to Manchester United for too long now, and as the summer transfer window approaches, the deal seems closer than ever, as per reports by Correio de Manha (via Sport Witness).

The big strong Swede is currently one of the best emerging names in the world of football, and after his stellar performances with Benfica, he is ready to step onto higher platforms and prove that he is worth all the hype and attraction.

As Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his central defence to fight for the Premier League title next season and contest in the Champions League, this might be the perfect time for the Portuguese club to sell their prime player to the English giants and cash in big time as they look to strengthen their financial status.

The estimated worth of the deal is said to be around €40m, which is a sum of €35m transfer fee and €5m added bonus. It will reportedly be announced and made official after the 9th of June, when Sweden play France in a World Cup Qualifier.

Mourinho might be eager to get this deal done as soon as possible, as local rivals Manchester City have already begun a spending spree, and the Red Devils would not want to be left far behind in that race.

The Swedish national team could allow Victor to travel for a medical after the qualifier matches, and hence, the defender could be a Premier League player as early as next week.
