Sunderland Lodge Interest In Man United Goalkeeper

Sunderland have identified Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone as a potential replacement for Jordan Pickford, according to reports in England.
Jordan Pickford has been attracting interest from several top clubs following his impressive 2016-17 Premier League campaign, and the young prodigy looks to be on his way to Everton, with the Toffees prepared to make him the most expensive British goalkeeper of all time.
To replace the 23-year-old England international, Sunderland have been on the lookout for several replacements, and have identified Manchester United youngster Sam Johnstone as one of the potential candidates for the job.
Johnstone currently sits behind David De Gea, Sergio Romero, and Joel Pereira in the pecking order at the Old Trafford outfit, with first-team opportunities all but impossible to get for the young shot-stopper.

Having spent the previous season out on loan at Aston Villa, the 24-year-old is expected to leave the Red Devils for good this summer, with the likes of Bristol City, Leeds United, Leicester City, Watford, as well as Villa interested is securing his services.
However, the Black Cats have now joined the race for the youngster’s signature, and as per The Daily Mail, they could lure Johnstone to the Stadium of Light by cashing out a sum of £5 million.
The Englishman has been a great servant at the Theatre of Dreams, with United boss Jose Mourinho himself described Sam as “a goalkeeper with great potential, and a very professional young man with a great attitude towards the game”.
