Mourinho Hints At Zlatan’s Return To Manchester United
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in line to make a comeback as soon as October, with a number of clubs interested in his services. Many thought that Zlatan’s top flight career was over when he injured his knee against Anderlecht in a Europa League game last season.
However, the big Swede has proven doubters wrong by making a quick recovery to show his great fitness, and the former Manchester United striker, who was earlier ruled out for whole of 2017, will be back in two months time.
Encouraged by Zlatan’s recovery, Jose Mourinho is looking to bring his favorite striker back to Old Trafford. The Portuguese coach has claimed that the Swedish international is ‘closer’ to Manchester United than any other club seeking him.
When asked about Ibrahimovic, Mourinho told Sport Mediaset : “He has no contract but he is closer to Manchester.”
The 35-year-old striker is being sought by a number of clubs like Manchester United, Newcastle United, and Galatasaray, but AC Milan have emerged as one of the frontrunners to land Ibrahimovic. The Italian giants are looking to add another striker to their new looking setup at San Siro, and Zlatan is one of their primary targets.
“Ibrahimovic? In life, never say never. Maybe an old acquaintance of ours could come back,” said AC Milan director Massimiliano Mirabella, much to the Rossoneri fans’ excitement.
