Mourinho To Sign One More Player Before The Deadline Day
According to transfer window podcast guest, Ian Mcgarry, Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho could sign one more player before the transfer window shuts down on August 31.
The English giants have already signed Romelu Lukaku, Victor Lindelof, Nemanja Matic, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, however, their quest for signing an attacking winger is all but seemingly over, as the transfer deadline is approaching thick and fast.
There is no doubt that United’s left-sided attacking wingers, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, started the season on a bright note, and seeing the impact that the young duo has created in the first three matches, it’s fair to say that Jose Mourinho would love to stick with them.
The former Porto manager himself confirmed before the Leicester game that he is happy with the squad, and won’t be putting pressure on the board before the transfer window closes.

However, former journalist Ian Mcgarry says that Mourinho could sign a lesser known player before the deadline day, if not a marquee signing
“I think Jose Mourinho will be desperately trying to do business before the window ends. What it might be, is not the big headline marquee signing, it may well be someone who is off the radar, and be someone who can do a job for him,” said Mcgarry.
“He’s done that before at Real Madrid, he’s done that at Chelsea, and at Inter Milan as well. It could be something off-the-wall for Manchester United rather than Griezmann or Willian.”
There is no denying that Mourinho has big history of pulling many successful deals before the deadline day in the previous clubs he managed. He signed Samuel Eto’o at Chelsea on a free transfer just two days before the deadline day in 2013, and also sealed a deal for Wesley Sneijder at Inter during the final part of the summer window in 2009.
In his penultimate season as a Real Madrid manager, Mourinho signed Luka Modric for a fee in the region of £30m as well; so considering his successful knack of recruiting players before the transfer deadline day, it won’t be a big surprise if he implements the same at Manchester United this week.
