According to Manchester Evening News, Antoine Griezmann is keen to sign for Manchester United in the winter transfer window.

After seeing his Manchester United move collapse in the summer, Antoine Griezmann is reportedly keen to make the switch in January.

Earlier, Jose Mourinho was ready to trigger the release clause in the Frenchman’s contract at Atletico, but the player decided to stay because of the transfer ban imposed on his team.

Atletico then decided to raise the value of the release clause in Griezmann’s contract to keep him at the club during the summer.

However, now that the summer window is over, the Atletico attacker wants to secure a move in the winter transfer window.

Griezmann would be happy to leave Los Rojiblancos in January, because the La Liga club would be able to recruit his replacement, as the ban will be uplifted by then.

It is expected that Manchester United will return for Griezmann again after missing out on their primary target of the summer. The Red Devils will be encouraged by the fact that their man will again be available at the same price because of the clause in his contract.

Time and again, Griezmann has shown great interest in joining Manchester United, and it looks like only a matter of time before he leaves for Old Trafford. However, Atletico won’t sell their prized asset for anything less that his buy-out clause.
