Manchester United Dubbed As Favourites To Sign Bayern Munich Target
Manchester United are the bookmakers’ favourites to sign Napoli captain Marek Hamsik.
After getting promoted to Serie A in 2007, Hamsik was one of Napoli’s first purchases, as the Italian club got him from Brescia. The Slovakian is widely admired as one of the best midfielders in Europe, and his contribution for Partenopei over the last few years has been unprecedented.
In close to 500 appearances for the club, Hamsik has scored 110 goals, and also helped the club win 2 Coppa Italia titles and 1 Supercoppa Italiana.
His exploits for Napoli haven’t gone unnoticed, as a lot of Europe’s elite clubs have chased him, but the 30-year-old rejected all advances, choosing to stay loyal to the Partenopei.

However, it seems that Hamsik could leave Stadio San Paolo next summer, as Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona have all expressed their interest in signing him.
In fact, the Red Devils were reportedly interested in sealing the transfer for the versatile player in this transfer window itself, but failed to make an official bid. And now, bookmakers Ladbrokes have United down as favourites at 2/1 to sign the Slovakia star next summer.
Speaking to German magazine Kicker, Hamsik remained coy when asked whether he would be open to joining the English giants next summer.
“That’s hard to say,” he said. “It would surely be the hardest decision in my career. “Maybe everyone wants to play at these clubs, but I can’t answer that. I think that Napoli is one of the top 10 European teams in terms of gameplay and performance.”
With European heavyweights Bayern and Barcelona are also reportedly chasing Hamsik, Ladbrokes has the German club in at 4/1, while the Spanish giants out at 5/1.
Considering that Hamsik has been a loyal servant to Napoli, it remains to be seen which of these three clubs pull off the deal and sign him next summer.
