PL Round-Up: Man City And Chelsea Make Light Of Opponents Before Squaring Up Next Week
Manchester City and Chelsea won their games comfortably, setting an exciting theme for their encounter next week.
Manchester City continued their ruthless form of late, as they shipped 5 goals at the Etihad against a lacklustre Crystal Palace. Leroy Sane opened the scoring for the Citizens at half-time, and there was no looking back for Pep Guardiola’s side after that. Raheem Sterling netted a brace, before Aguero and Delph added to the scoreline to make it 5-0.
Pep Guardiola seems to have found his magic formula, as he looks like a man on a mission to put the disappointment of last season behind. Manchester City have already scored 5 or more goals in 3 matches under Guardiola this season. It’s safe to say that the Citizens’ attacking setup is amongst the best, not just in the Premier League, but in the world as well.
Meanwhile, Chelsea made recovery from the disappointing draw against Arsenal, as Morata ran riot against Stoke. The Spanish striker, who was poor against the Gunners, scored his first hat-trick for his new club. Conte’s side ran out deserved winners in a 4-0 win away against Stoke City. Pedro was also on the score-sheet to strengthen his claim for a place in the team.
These big wins for Chelsea and Manchester City have set up a mouth watering clash for football fans at the Stamford Bridge next week. City will be travelling to London, seeking to demolish their opposition as they did against Liverpool. The Blues, on the other hand, will be looking to get a result against Guardiola’s flying men in their bid to close the gap at the top of the table.
