Ligue 1: Multiple Fans Injured Due To Stadium Stand Collapse

The stand collapsed whilst the fans were celebrating a goal scored by Ibrahim Amadou, thus injuring several of them who fell off. Reports claim that the French emergency services went on to state that around 18 football fans got injured, with 3 of them being in serious condition.
The incident happened after a barrier gave way at the 12,000-capacity Amiens Unicorn stadium. The match was quickly abandoned after the tragedy. Video footage and photos went viral on social media sites, which show the horrific incident of dozens of fans tumbling down.

The incident occurred in the first half, and the play was stopped in the 16th minute, as officials decided to suspend the northern French derby, wherein Lille led 1-0. First aid and all other essentials were soon offered, as the injured people were evacuated. Some fans were taken out in stretchers due to multiple injuries.
Both clubs took to social media site Twitter to offer solidarity and support in the need of the hour. Ambulances were rushed outside the stadium to help the injured.
