On Saturday, Manchester United will hope to continue waging their formidable form against bitter rivals Liverpool. With the men from Merseyside also eager to make a statement cementing their title challenge, the encounter will be an undoubtedly lively one.

However, fans of the Red Devils have had much worrying to do in terms of injury woes. Having unexpectedly lost Paul Pogba until early 2018, the international break also saw new additions to their long list of absentees, such as Fellaini and Jones.

However, one big name will assuredly make his return from injury in this game.

In a press conference leading up to the Premier League encounter, Jose Mourinho confirmed that Romelu Lukaku will be available for selection against Liverpool.

The deadly striker was initially doubtful for the match, having suffered a minor ankle problem during their last match against Crystal Palace, where his goal aided United’s 4-0 thumping.

The same problem had kept him from starting for Belgium, with manager Roberto Martinez reportedly not wanting to risk angering Mourinho by featuring the striker against Bosnia. This was despite him maintaining that the 24-year-old was ‘100 per cent fit’.

Fans did witness the same, as the ace finisher was subbed on in the 66th minute against Cyprus, and soonafter managed to find the back of the net, with the scoreline also ending in a 4-0 victory for Belgium.

For United, the ex-Evertonian has scored 11 times already in all competitions, 7 of them coming in the Premier League. He has established himself quite well at the helm of the Reds’ attack, and already looks to be an integral part of their success for the seasons to come.

All of this will further add to the excitement for the early kick-off at Anfield, where a victory for the Mancunian side will temporarily seat them atop the table, edging past their bitter rivals Manchester City.
