Man City Keen To Sign Ryan Bertrand

Man City have made a dream start to their Premier League campaign, wherein they are yet to lose a game, and have already scored 29 goals in just 8 matches. However, people tend to forget the efforts of the City defenders, who are equally on top of their game this season.

With their newly-signed defender Benjamin Mendy set to miss a majority of the matches until mid-April, thanks to the knee injury he suffered while playing against Crystal Palace in September, Fabian Delph has been deployed in the playing eleven as a temporary solution.

But Pep Guardiola is sure to want another option on the left despite buying three full-backs this summer, as the injured Frenchman was the only natural left-back in the club’s first-team squad.

And now, a report from the Sun claim that Southampton’s Ryan Bertrand has been identified as a prime target by the Citizens, and the 28-year-old would be open to a move to Etihad Stadium.

Already a Champions League winner with Chelsea, as his side beat Bayern Munich in the 2012 final, Bertrand would definitely be a first-choice left-back for Pep. He is a vastly experienced Premier League defender, who is also part of the England squad.

The Englishman would cost City £30 million this January, but it remains to be seen whether Southampton approve of this switch.
