A bizarre incident took place last night, as Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard spent time together in the BT Sport studio.

On the night, Scholes happened to ridicule Gerrard by being unresponsive when the instrumental figure referred to his failure to win the Premier League.

Furthermore, the 42-year-old let out an ungovernable smirk when he recalled that the former Reds’ midfielder never lifted the renowned trophy during his 17-year stint with Liverpool.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils’ legend has won countless honours during his influential career, including 11 Premier League titles.

The former Liverpool captain stated on the show: “For somebody who hasn’t won the league, for me, I see it more as clever management and tactically spot on if you go on and win it.”

By further intensifying his rivalry with him, Scholes gave out a priceless expression and remained silent so as to mock the Liverpool legend, thus making it conspicuous that the enmity towards Liverpool for the United legend still remain sturdy.

Later on, the United man was asked about Nemanja Matic’s contribution to the club since his £40m arrival from Chelsea this summer, to which he replied: “He’s just one of them awkward players. Tall lad, long legs – he’s very difficult to get past. He’s had a great start at United. He’s been aggressive, he gets to the ball, he tackles. He’s done well so far.”
