OFFICIAL: The FIFA World Team Of The Year Is Announced

The prestigious list of the best eleven in football is dominated by the stars playing for the two Spanish giants.

Real Madrid have five of their players featuring on the list, while three from Barcelona make the cut. This is no surprise, as the two clubs have followed the trend of recent years, providing a dynamic and entertaining brand of football and serving to heighten the profile of Spain’s La Liga.

Los Blancos included in the best eleven are Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Modric, Kroos and most inevitably, Cristiano Ronaldo. As for the Catalan club, the names of Iniesta, Messi, and former superstar Neymar adorn the list.

Juventus’ Buffon bags the goalkeeping spot, while Marcelo and Ramos are joined by former Juventus players Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci. In midfield, the La Liga trio of Kroos, Modric, and Iniesta is deployed. Finally, the forward spots are filled by the attacking trio a football devotee would love to witness, featuring Messi, Ronaldo, and Neymar.

The most anticipated part of the evening will undoubtedly be to see who among Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will be able to bag the top prize after enjoying yet another spectacular individual campaigns.
