Arsenal Preparing A Shock Move For Marouane Fellaini
Arsenal have emerged as surprise contenders to sign Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini, who is heading into the final months of his contract.
Though multiple reports suggest that the Red Devils are keen on keeping hold of the Belgian giant, he has reportedly rejected any proposed contract offers so far, and looks set to run down his current deal at Old Trafford.
Further, there have also been whispers of Fellaini having told the club that he wants to move on. The towering midfielder has experienced a rejuvenated career this season, having scored 4 goals in as little as 2 starts across all competitions.
Surprisingly, the Gunners are the ones that have unlikely come up to capitalise on the prolonged negotiations, according to popular Italian sports outlet Calciomercato.
Arsene Wenger’s side looks to be in dire need of a reliable midfielder, and they have seemingly found the former Everton man as a potential candidate for the spot.
On the other hand, despite United’s resolve to keep the Belgium international in Manchester, they have set his price tag around a meager £8 million.
Further, with clubs like Besiktas reportedly been in contact with the club and the player over a possible transfer, Wenger might want to accelerate his side’s approach and negotiations.
