Mourinho Hints He Could Start Surprise Player Against Man City
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been drawing attention with the performances he has showcased after his return following a seven-month lay-off owing to a horrible injury.
As the decorated striker built back his reputation, he couldn’t mark his appearance for the notable 3-1 win over Arsenal. However, Jose Mourinho has hinted that the Swede could make it back to face City in the widely anticipated Premier League fixture.

The 36-year-old has been struggling with a niggling knee injury. Nonetheless, his side managed well without his aid, thrashing the Gunners at theEmirates.
Ibrahimovic will reportedly miss the Champions League clash against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday, but the Portuguese tactician bestowed solace to supporters by hinting at the robust striker’s return for the big fixture.
Mourinho stated: “Zlatan is not injured. He sometimes needs some very hard work on the muscular area which supports [the] knee which had problems. When a period of hard work comes, also the fatigue comes.
“To work really hard for a certain period of time, he cannot play in these days, so we decided to do that after Watford (a 4-2 win last week). He’s on that cycle of work now, divided between gym and pitch.
“He’ll be out again tomorrow [Tuesday], but back to normal work after CSKA. All other players who were out are still out. But I could make a surprise and one who isn’t available may play.”
Despite not having the chance to play for the entirety of the 90 minutes, the veteran forward has made three appearances since his return from the large-scale injury, and has portrayed a decent form in each of those games.
The Old Trafford outfit would surely find his services valuable when they go up against Pep’s Mancunian side this weekend.
